The Role:


Reporting to the Head of Information Security, the Associate Director of Architecture and Engineering is responsible for ensuring that ElevateBio’s IT systems are designed, built, configured, and operated in a secure manner. The successful candidate will be an innovative and strategic thinker with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a desire to collaborate across the enterprise to design solutions that support our business as we continue to scale and grow.


This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work as part of a small team to build, run, and evolve the cybersecurity infrastructure in a growing, well-funded startup company that prioritizes its employees’ growth and development, and to take on more leadership as the company grows.


Here’s What You’ll Do:



  • Design, build, configure, integrate, and operate information security tools & systems

  • Create and maintain security standards, including cloud security standards

  • Perform technology, architecture, and security reviews

  • Collaborate with business units to ensure that security is represented in the SDLC

  • Contribute to enterprise architecture governance, standards, and processes

  • Evaluate, acquire, configure, and operate cloud and on-premise security tools

  • Ensure that the configurations of cloud and on-premise systems are appropriate

  • Select, manage, and interact with managed services partners

  • Design, implement, and evolve a zero-trust architecture

  • Implement and evolve a passwordless architecture

  • Assist with incident response as required


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in information security

  • Strong communications and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience with technologies such as firewalls, virtual private networks, and proxies

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including security hardening, monitoring, and tooling

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and AzureAD

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Amazon Web Services security concepts and tools

  • Experience scripting or coding in any language is preferred
