WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:


Magnifi by TIFIN is changing the way consumers shop for investments by bringing trusted data, insights, and a world of investment opportunities right to their fingertips.  Magnifi’s free search tool and its recently launched AI-powered personal investing assistant called Mentor™ which will be offered as a monthly subscription, enables individual investors with varying degrees of experience and know-how with investment intelligence that, up to now, has only been offered to professional financial advisors.  Magnifi also provides, free, no commission and no-order flow trading of stocks, ETFs and mutual funds for investors seeking to easily put their insights to work. As we enter into the next stage of achieving our vision of being the premier, global investment marketplace, we are looking for an exceptional and ambitious VP Security & Privacy to join our team. As VP Security & Privacy, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information and data security strategy. As the first internal security hire, you will establish strategic & tactical objectives, along with defining operating policies and procedures. We seek an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit excited to grow a function from its infancy into a robust and scalable practice. 


THE ROLE:



  • Identify and implement a Data Privacy framework that aligns to our company culture and risk appetite

  • Gain sufficient knowledge of Magnifi data infrastructure in order to intelligently assess the security and privacy of information processing, transmission, and storage

  • Create and maintain strong relationships across the organization, including Legal, Product and Engineering

  • Contribute meaningfully to technical audit requirements, including SOC1, SOX, PCI, and Experian Third-Party Security standards

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Data Privacy legislation, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and similar


WHO YOU ARE:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the consumer data security field

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in leading information security or data privacy teams 

  • Strong understanding of data privacy standards

  • Ability to thrive in a highly demanding, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment 

  • Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity, and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities

  • A top performer with a proactive approach who has a “doer” & problem-solver mentality 

  • An exceptional team player with strong communication skills

  • A local presence in Denver or Boulder is preferred


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:


For Colorado Applicants: The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $150,000 - $200,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation as well as client acquisition bonus program.
