This position plays a critical role in Verizon’s Corporate Information Security (CIS) team. We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to organize and coordinate CIS Technical Services programs across Verizon. This role is expected to provide strategic guidance to teams and engineering managers in ways that promote the company’s objective and goals.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in working with staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop effective strategies and tactics while applying lessons learned to drive increased efficiency.

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing security programs at all levels and drive significant business value through successful, on time delivery of security initiatives. This will include:

•Program Managing enterprise security logging onboarding, requiring partnering across IT applications teams, infrastructure teams, establishing priorities and effectively addressing program challenges, and security teams to ensure applications are compliant with corporate security policy.

•Program Manage AWS security activities, scope includes: coordinating and directing cross-functional security teams to implement AWS support model for security services, track and report progress across all AWS security Epics, and present program status to CISO and direct report team.Ensure that all programs deliver the desirable outcome

•Program plan creation, schedule creation and management, and reporting as well as regular status reporting on the progress of initiatives

•Translate business needs to program actions and effectively communicate benefits to team

•Possess working knowledge of the underlying security activities associated with each program, this may include: security infrastructure and architecture, security solutions including endpoint protection, public cloud operations (specific AWS), identity and access management, and security monitoring and incident response processes

•Identify program resource or knowledge gaps and develop action plan to resolve

•Develop and control deadlines and activities with internal teams and external vendors

•Identify risks and mitigation plans that maintain schedule integrity

•Effectively liaison across multiple departments and all functions of the business to plan, prioritize, and manage resources

•Coordinate cross-program activities and possess the knowledge to link dependent activities and optimize potential synergies

•Develop lessons learned from past programs to apply to future work efforts to improve operations, team dynamics, and drive efficiencies

•Collaborate with business leaders and security professions to shape programs that align with security standards

•Motivate project team members and effectively reconcile conflicts where needed

•Manage communications between the program team and key stakeholders. Escalate risks, issues, changes and decisions to management and business counterparts throughout project life cycles

•Ability to move between programs and adapt to the differing deliverables and business focus

•Program management experience leading project owners responsible for tactical portions of overall security program

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

•Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.

•Six or more years of relevant work experience.

•Experience in cyber security field.

Even better if you have:

•Five or more years of experience executing large scale programs to a successful conclusion in the cyber security space.

•Working knowledge of security infrastructure and methodology desired, this includes: firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network ACLs, SSL, Web Proxies, Security logging and monitoring, SIEM solutions, Endpoint AV, etc.

•Demonstrated understanding of industry standard frameworks including NIST Cybersecurity Framework

•Experience with Agile/Scrum development

•Knowledge of PMBOK processes and best practices

•Demonstrate creation and delivery of comprehensive business process requirements and change management programs

•Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills

•Creative and resourceful problem solver with strong leadership

•Project Management Certificate, (PMP) Scrum Master and/or Green/Black Belt is a plus

•Training on PMO tools and practices

•Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of cyber risks and threats related to cyber attackers

•CISSP Certification and Master’s degree preferred
