Company Overview:

Based in the Washington, D.C. area, MATRIX is a cyber risk consulting firm with a mission to help clients mitigate their financial exposure in the event of a breach. The MATRIX team is focused on providing pre-breach and investigative response services to support cyber insurance claims, privacy litigation, and payment card data breaches.

The Role:

This individual will assist in developing, leading and managing investigative response services delivered to clients in North America. The Director of Cyber Investigations will be in charge of leading and delivering these services and will contribute to activities related to building a team of cyber forensics investigators.Responsibilities:

• Develop, Lead and manage incident response engagements to guide clients through forensic investigations and provide guidance on longer term remediation recommendations.

• Analyze various operating systems to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).

• Examine firewall, web, database, and other log sources to identify evidence of malicious activity.

• Maintain current knowledge of tools and best-practices for a wide range of security tools.

• Conduct security gap analysis assessments, penetration testing / red-team assessments, and vulnerability assessments to identify security vulnerabilities and issues in client environments.

• Help hire, develop and mentor junior consultants.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of comparable experience.

• Candidate must be a self-initiated individual that desires a professional environment that provides a broad latitude to conduct investigations, manage workload to the best of his or her ability and grow professionally in the rapidly advancing cyber security industry.

• Candidate must have a passion for delivering the highest quality of service in assisting clients during incident response and digital forensic engagements.

• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple client investigations.

• Must have excellent written communication and detailed documentation skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, including senior executive.

• Comprehensive understanding of the PCI PFI program requirements and associated documentation requirements.

• Extensive experience delivering high quality customer-focused PFI Investigations is preferred but not required.
