SkyKick is in search of a senior leader to join us as a Director, Cloud Management & Security Product Marketing. Together with the team you will lead, your role will span initiatives across Positioning Strategy, Messaging, and GTM for SkyKick’s Cloud Management & Security group of products.
 
Over the next decade, analysts predict nearly a BILLION users in Small and Mid-sized businesses will embrace digital transformation. Service providers will spend nearly 600 million hours of labor in processes that are inefficient, non-secure, and technically complex. Technical talent is in short supply and margins are under constant pressure, so throwing bodies at the problem is not a sustainable solution. The ITSP technology market is ripe for disruption!

Launched in 2020, SkyKick Cloud Manager created a new category of low-code and no-code automation that is changing the state of play for the 100,000 strong Cloud IT service provider community. ITSPs are using this automation to reduce support costs, strengthen security, and improve customer satisfaction in their SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS Cloud Operations. Equally as important, Cloud Manager is helping ITSP increase revenue and relevance with customers. For instance, Security is a top concern for 72% of SMB customers, but fewer than 10% of ITSPs have the required specialized skills and expertise to offer Cybersecurity services. With Cloud Manager, mainstream MSPs have been able to step up and confidently offer lucrative services like Cybersecurity, Microsoft Teams, and multi-SaaS cloud administration. Since its launch, the product has enjoyed exceptional growth and market acceptance.

Looking ahead, there is immense potential but also meaty challenges that need creative marketing strategy and relentless execution. In seeking to automate the $500B SMB IT services market, the addressable potential and opportunity is significant. In fact, Microsoft claims that only about 90K of the roughly 500K IT Service Providers worldwide have moved to the cloud, so we are in early innings of an organic growth opportunity.
 
If you are a SaaS marketing Rockstar with a general manger mindset, this is an opportunity to bring your business acumen and marketing muscle to a true 4Ps marketing role to write the next chapter in Cloud Automation. This senior role reports to the global head of Product & Partner Marketing and is part of a team that is at the bleeding edge of SaaS marketing excellence and experimentation.

As the leader of product marketing for the Cloud Management & Security business, you will think across Business Strategy, Market Research, Positioning & Messaging, Sales Enablement, & Overall Go-to-market execution.

The Impact You'll Make:
  • Lead with data and bring the organization together around market, audience and competitive insights that help clarify market segmentation, product direction, and business strategy.
  • Drive the product marketing strategy (positioning, value-prop, messaging framework etc.) in partnership with Sales, Product, the extended Marketing team, and the Executive team.
  • Pricing & packaging strategy are a vital lever in the short- and long-term growth of the product. Strong SaaS pricing thinking including optimizing trialing & freemium models, tuning price elasticity, setting multi-axis pricing, SKU strategy and bundling/packing into plans with other products will come into play.
  • Be an ambassador of the customer, partner, and internal sales team in influencing future product roadmap and investments that maximize long-term growth of the product.
  • Turn strategy into succinct, evocative content BOM that engages the audience, changes perceptions, and accelerates purchase. Plan and produce a variety of content, including but not limited to product marketing content, sales enablement TCO/ROI aids, through-channel to-customer content, competitor battlecards, and case studies.
  • Earn trust with and support field sales organization in effective usage of sales assets
  • Build communication plans and distribution strategies / plans that scale across key SkyKick and third-party channels (PR, website, blog, webinars, social media etc.).
  • Lead on growth and acquisition campaigns and collaborate with sales and other marketing teams to execute them in market.
  • Bring the organization together on GTM for key launches and major release milestones
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and external teams to support brand and sales success at key partner events and industry conferences.
  • Measure ROI effectiveness of all assigned marketing programs, track results and continually optimize programs.

  • What You Bring:
  • Generally, 7-10 years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, Consulting, or Business Strategy roles.
  • Diversity in past roles is valued and appreciated, but a material footprint in core technology product marketing is required. Bonus points for SaaS product marketing.
  • Experience at a cybersecurity company, particularly one in the Microsoft ecosystem, is highly valued.
  • MBA is generally expected, but not a barrier for otherwise exceptional candidates
  • Familiarity and experience with Channel Marketing programs, especially in the IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) space is a significant plus.
  • Demonstrated record of thinking strategically and following up with execution. Ability and passion to roll up sleeves and drive a significant quantity of high-quality content. Very strong writing and content creation skills are vital, as are strong execution and project management discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various stakeholders internally and externally. Executive-level presentation skills.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable working with data. You live by the dictum – what gets measured, gets done.
  • 2+ years of team management experience is desirable.
  • Above all, you will need to be passionate about simplifying the complex and excited to catalyze the next wave of innovation in cloud computing and the IT solution space. You will use your varied experiences to earn trust with Product & Sales teams and then use your Product Marketing craft to translate the product innovation into GTM programs that amplify sales.
