Information Security Analyst

About the role

We are hiring an Information Security Analyst to support the Information Security Lead in delivering GWI’s cyber security strategy.  As a candidate, you must not only be passionate about information security, with a strong understanding of security principles and best practices, but also an advocate for security being a business enabler and not merely a compliance ‘check-box’ exercise.  You will have experience in the configuration and management of traditional security tools and technical controls, together with a desire to expand your knowledge with the goal of supporting GWI in an ever-changing security landscape.

What you’ll be doing

• Take a proactive role in identifying security risks, mitigations and opportunities to strengthen the business’ resilience to cyber attacks and security threats.


• Work with our MSP and technical partners to ensure that our security controls continue to be effective and aligned with business objectives.


• Interact with stakeholders across the organisation to provide subject matter expertise in the design, deployment, support and maintenance of security controls and processes.


• Provide security oversight to support and align the business to security policies and standards.


• Assist in the management of security incident response activities.


• Ownership and execution of new security initiatives.

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following foundations in information security:

• Hands-on experience with security tooling, with a particular focus on the following areas: Access control, endpoint security, email security, anomaly detection and vulnerability management.


• Knowledge of cloud security principles.  Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is desirable but not essential.


• An understanding of information security standards such as Cyber Essentials, NIST and ISO 27001.


• Experience with security threat intelligence analysis and best practice.


• An understanding of security risk management.


• Experience of formal documentation creation, such as the creation of reports or procedures.

Competencies

• Excellent interpersonal/soft skills are essential.


• An inquisitive mindset and the ability to work proactively.


• A desire to become an expert in their field.
