Mandiant Research Team (MRT) is looking for a Threat Intelligence Researcher to join our team. This researcher will be responsible for detecting and tracking regionally focused underground and darknet activities across all platforms, as well as provide other regionally based research and expertise as needed.   

The successful candidate will possess fluency in a non-English regional language and knowledge of underground sources and activities. The role requires strong researching skills, good English communication skills (particularly written), and will involve frequent production of raw information to feed analytic products.

Responsibilities:

• Detect, investigate, track, and report on regionally focused malicious cyber activities.
• Cultivate relationships in the cyber community for sharing and collaboration in order to better protect our customers.
• Collaborate with other researchers based on developed SME area.
• Satisfy long and short-term research requirements in a timely manner, to varying degrees of depth.
• Create reports in English based on research discoveries.

• Demonstrable research and analytic competencies. Prior experience in research or analysis is preferred, particularly as it relates to malicious cyber activity.
• Fluency in a non-English language; languages of interest include—but are not limited to— Russian, Malay, Bahasa Indonesia, Filipino, and Thai.
• Basic knowledge of cyber threat activity, to include actors, TTPs, and targets.
• Ability to accurately, comprehensively, and concisely relay research findings in English. Promising candidates will be expected to complete a writing sample.
