What you’ll do




  • We are looking for a Security Engineer to help us form a new security focused team at Flagstone.  We are a Microsoft house (from endpoints, email all the way to our platform that our customers use every day), looking for someone to work alongside the CloudOps Team who is comfortable with the vast array of Microsoft Managed Security and Infrastructure solutions, to help us improve and deliver on the promise of providing security, availability and integrity to our clients who trust us with their transactions, data and availability.


    The successful application will help to form the growing dedicated security function at flagstone and assist with the management of a secure modern Microsoft stack with a specific focus on Microsoft cloud-based security tools and end user devices.  We are looking for a candidate who can help us build out our automation as well as controls in the same way we build and provide our services to our customers.


    Your responsibilities will include:



    • Helping to define security tooling and configuration as IaC (Infrastructure as code)

    • Helping to develop and secure our Azure Infrastructure with a focus on detections against hardening preformed.

    • Identifying and promoting best practices for multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, resilient, secure, and scalable solutions.

    • Building automation playbooks to improve efficiency in the Security team.

    • Defining, building and maintaining security dashboards used within multiple levels of the organisation.

    • Enhancing and maintaining our Microsoft Security solutions through integrations.

    • Acting as an ambassador for Cybersecurity, promoting both good practices and the Cyber Security teams tools and services.

    • Participating in our incident response team, including out-of-hours support where required.

    • Having and raising awareness of real-world cyber security threats and apply this to your work.

    • Writing security requirements for pen testing.

    • Undertaking assurance assessments of third-party suppliers.

    • Helping to define security related priorities.


     What you’ll need



    • Good understanding of cyber security principles and best practices

    • The ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced environment.

    • Azure Bicep (or similar IaC experience)

    • Experience in Working and Securing Azure Environments.

    • Good understanding of IT infrastructure.

    • Good understanding of software development practices and coding.

    • Knowledge and practical use of Powershell.

    • Knowledge and practical use of Azure DevOps.

    • Strong problem-solving skills with logical thinking and attention to detail.

    • Understanding of log analysis and security forensics.

    • Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise responsibilities to effectively meet business needs.
