Listing Description
Fannie Mae is looking for a Security Operations Director to join its growing Information Security Team, primarily responsible for the analysis and development of the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of security controls and tools. This role will report to either the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) or the Deputy CISO and will provide leadership as an Information Security Director/Manager.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security and Risk Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related major or commensurate experience
Minimum Experience
10-15 years’ experience in the IT industry with solid experience in security, systems engineering design and operational support roles interfacing with customers
Working level experience securing IT systems, authentication, and/or system management experience.
6+ plus, years of management experience
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent required
Previous experience deploying security controls and/or related solutions
Must have people management experience
Ability to generate a sense of urgency and rally appropriate resources.
Able to deal with the stress related to escalation impact, resolution timeframes and conflicting/competing priorities
Ability to provide high quality verbal and written communication
Strong organizational, presentation, meeting, and communication skills
Proven ability to mentor, coach and lead a team to success.
Analytical problem-solving capabilities, strong decision-making skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals across all levels the organization
Highly collaborative with the ability to influence and drive behavior across the organization with other teams, such as system operations, infrastructure, auditors, security personnel etc.

Direct a Security Operations team, to include leading and building an L1 security operations function that spans the Information Security portfolio of security controls
Specialize in operationalizing security systems and industry best practices
Hire, train and retain Security Operations personnel and plan for future staffing/business needs
Develop processes and communication strategies to ensure a timely and responsive approach to both customer reported and incidents identified internally
Point of escalation when issues severely impact an environment, driving problems to resolution and managing the communications within the operations team and with internal customers.
Responsible for the Managed Security Services and systems
Oversee root-cause analysis, make and implement recommendations on improvements
Coordinate, manage, and deliver service metrics
Recommend and implement improvements to security services
Develop and maintain security-related monitoring and logging –requirements and procedures across infrastructure, applications and databases globally for the company
Provide technical leadership to a cross functional operations team and direct the teams responsible for information security operations
Provide strategic direction for information security operations
Lead direction, discussions, and decisions on end to end lifecycle management products and services
Understand the Fannie Mae business and define what is technically needed to acquire, operate and maintain the security controls to protect Fannie Mae and customer data and systems
Work closely with engineering groups providing feedback on security controls, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and driving improvements into controls and processes
Collaborate with other Information Security teams to analyze and prioritize deployment, implementation, operation, and maintenance of security controls
Communicate on a deeply technical level with product engineering and operations teams to improve and optimize both the product and the infrastructure
Provide recommendations and guide engineering and operations counterparts through technology adaptation stages of engineering and pilot deployment including but not limited to:
Operationalize technology solutions that satisfy and meet security requirements
