This is an opportunity to lead a security operations team. Working inside an established cyber fusion center, the Senior Manager would be responsible for determining tools, building processes, and continuing the development of the security operations team.  With a team of analysts around the world this person would be responsible for all cyber threats to Upwork.

 Your Responsibilities:

• Prioritizing the detection, analysis and mitigation of cyber threats to Upwork people, the business and customers.


• Owning the Endpoint detect and response system and Security event and Information management systems.


• Continuing the maturity of a Security Orchestration and Automation System. Maintaining a roadmap for the continuous expansion of the system


• Building processes within the team, including leading projects, aligning priorities and developing incident response processes.


• Operationalizing team by implementing processes, procedures, and playbooks.


• Evaluating and developing the threat hunting and response operations. This will include identifying, responding, and documenting the threats in the infrastructure.


• Leading the security operations team.


• Gathering data to facilitate metrics around threats, projects and initiatives


• Tracking team growth and employee engagement.


• Constant improvement of detection of evolving threats.


• Data to be shared with partners internally and externally.

What it takes to catch our eye:

• Experience of working in Security team in assessing, designing and implementing a 


• Security operations program,writing processes and procedures.


• Superb verbal communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.


• Must have experience current or common security technologies like, SIEM, SOAR, WAF, EDR, Anti-Phishing, Bot detection/prevention, DLP
