The Security Architect will lead the security organization in design, for both the application and environmental security controls. This role will need to interact with their peers, along with multiple engineer roles from application to infrastructure. The Security Architect will be leading through influence and coordinating security response, review to projects that are under review
by the architecture review board. This role will be part of reviewing and approving these projects from a security point of view. This role is critical to the security of systems within the organization, as it is used by our customers both internal and external. A diverse background, critical thinking, quick learning, deep exposure to application and infrastructure security and security technologies, all contribute to being successful at Protego as the Security Architect.
Objectives:
●Threat Modeling – Understanding and evaluating systems based on standardized control
sets and able to design solutions to reduce, mitigate or transfer risk
●Develop, document and review for adherence to security patterns within the application
and its supporting infrastructure
●Ability to refine and improve security controls framework, apply it to projects, and review,
design and document security technologies to support enablement of the security control
framework
●Validate and hold project teams accountable for security requirements being met by the
project teams and that it will satisfy regulatory and security capabilities
●Engage with the architecture review board to represent security teams interests
●Work with peers and engineers to review security technologies and validate applicability
of the tooling to secure the environment through enhanced or new capabilities
What you bring to Protego:
●5+ years of experience within Information Technology with various security tools
●5+ years of experience working in a regulated organization
●5+ years of experience as an application or security engineer
●1 to 3 years of experience as a security architect
●1 to 3 years of experience working with architecture review boards
●Strong understanding of web applications and security
●Experience with container and container security protections
●In depth understanding and application of multiple security control frameworks,
regulatory and compliance requirements
●Experience with software development and system design lifecycle management
●Familiarity with network and web application protocols
●Strong understanding and application of identity and access management practices
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
●Experience building security controls in a DevOps environment or at the application level
●Knowledge of common infrastructure and application security risks
●Knowledge of common authentication protocols, capabilities and deployment methods
●Knowledge of common security tooling types, capabilities and application to meeting
regulatory and compliance requirements
●Ability to understand, explain, and demonstrate various security vulnerabilities & risks
including XSS, CSRF, Code Injection, MitM, Brute-force/Dictionary/Rainbow Table
attacks, etc
