Founded in 2013 and based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Waitr operates an online ordering technology platform, providing delivery, carryout and dine-in options. Waitr, along with Bite Squad and Delivery Dudes, connect local restaurants and grocery stores to diners in underserved U.S. markets. Additionally, Waitr facilitates access to third parties that provide payment processing solutions for restaurants and other merchants. Together, they are a convenient way to discover, order and receive great food and other products from local restaurants, national chains and grocery stores. As of March 31, 2022, Waitr, Bite Squad and Delivery Dudes operate in approximately 1,000 cities throughout the United States.

Job Summary

The Cloud Security Analyst is an information security professional that leads evaluating, developing, and implementing security tools, standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms in private and commercial cloud environments as needed. This position will have a focus on cloud and application security and will utilize a wide area of expertise in access control management, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, risk management, incident management, security frameworks and other areas to provide security support for the business. In addition, they will also maintaining day-to-day operations of multiple security platforms and tools while working to continuously strengthen the security posture of the business.

Job Functions
  • Serves as an information security expert, helping security team comply with enterprise and IT security policies, regulations, and recommended strategic solutions.
  • Researches, evaluates, and advocates for new technologies, architectures, products, policies, processes or procedures that will support security requirements for the business, business partners, and vendors.
  • Work with security team to take mitigation steps in order to reduce business impact of emerging information security threats, vulnerabilities and overall security posture.
  • Assist with security reviews and identifies gaps in security architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion in the risk mitigation strategy.
  • Analyzes organization's cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives.
  • Develops and conducts authorized penetration testing on enterprise network assets.
  • Manage and analyze security information and event management (SIEM) tools and services to identify and respond to events as appropriate
  • Performs risk and security assessments of applications, databases, and servers and supporting network technologies.

  • Required Education and Experience
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of cybersecurity experience.
  • Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Finance or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
  • Industry certifications (Security +, GIAC, CISSP etc...)
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to explain the result of experiments to technical and non-technical people
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch/Google Cloud Monitoring, Splunk, Rapid7, DataDog etc
  • Experience with Python and PowerShell
  • Ability to write maintainable, clear code as it relates to cybersecurity
  • Experience with cloud container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux and web applications.

  • Additional Information
  • Work Hours: M-F, 8-5 in the candidate’s local time zone or other work arrangements as agreed upon between the candidate and department leader. After hours availability for high priority incidents
  • Travel: minimal, perhaps one or two team gatherings per year.
