Listing Description

The Cloud Security Product Architect is a key element within the Rackspace security solutions product team.  This individual is expected to take initiative and lead in the development of leading cloud security solutions applicable to Rackspace customers hosted in the public cloud.  Technical architecture and design will encompass the building of product specification, customer and internal architectural design, and the creation of architectural patterns.  The role requires architectural and engineering level knowledge of at least one cloud provider (Azure, AWS, and Google) as well as understanding of key security architectural components such as zero trust, identity and access management, application security/DevSecOps, vulnerability management, compliance management, and more.  Familiar with the security landscape and typical attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPS), the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and leading compliance regimes, the architect is able to help internal and external stakeholders understand security business context and how a particular solution addresses security concerns.  As a product architect, the role will focus on defining, building, and supporting the sale of managed security services for Cloud, articulating reference architectures to Rackspace’s point of view on security, supporting strategic deal pursuit, and acting as a thought leader in support of business objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities
·       Define and continuously iterate on the Rackspace security reference architecture for public cloud security and points of view on how to appropriately build and manage cloud security
·       Build, maintain architectural patterns supporting Rackspace’s reference architecture and points of view, communicating to technical sales and customers as required
·       Act as technical leader for security within the security product team as well as with the wider product architect and technical leadership community at Rackspace
·       Collaborate with customers, product leaders, and sales leaders to identify customer needs and management gaps that represent business opportunities for Rackspace
·       Assist in building business case for investment on new offers as appropriate
·       Build managed product architecture and technical specification including services and technology partner architecture, automation, and management processes
·       Guide product management, engineering, and automation engineering as required, contributing as technical leader to product development
·       Assist in developing technical documentation and go to market collateral as required
·       Provide training to technical sales staff and delivery Rackers on Rackspace security solutions
·       Support strategic sales pursuits as a technical thought leader
·       Deliver security thought leadership in Rackspace and industry forums and events
Requirements:
·       10+ years of experience (or equivalent capabilities) in relevant roles as a security architect/engineer, cloud architect/engineer, product manager, or security consultant
·       Significant knowledge of and exposure to at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google), hyperscaler security certifications preferred
·       Exposure to securing cloud workplace security services (O365, Google Workspace, etc.) and SaaS
·       Expert level knowledge of security fundamentals and key architectural concepts including identity and access management, network security, Zero Trust, SD-WAN/SASE, application security, container security, and cloud security
·       Ability to clearly communicate architectural concepts and points of view to both business executives and technical stakeholders
·       Hold and be able to defend well-defined points of view on best practices to build defense in depth and respond to security threats in the public cloud
·       Understanding of risk management concepts and exposure to security compliance standards and frameworks such as PCI, ISO27000 series, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and NIST CSF, and more
·       Passionate about technology and has a desire to constantly expand technical knowledge
·       Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders clearly, experience communicating with industry analysts preferred
·       Ability to own execution without continuous oversight
·       Demonstrated problem-solving skills coupled with a desire to take on responsibility
·       Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) required; master’s preferred
The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $104,200 –$135,200. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on benefits offered is here.
