Requirements


  • Responsibilities
  • Perform and update comprehensive risk assessments to determine the risk to people and assets 
  • Monitor political, social, economic, and military situation and identify trends relevant to security situation and its potential impact on CORE programming and operations.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to staff and partners
  • Manage security risks and activities in coordination with public law enforcement and other security agencies.
  • Organise specific security for events, VIP visits, or other occasions when there are more people present than usual
  • Develop, implement and update security standards, procedures, policies and contingency plans within the framework provided by CORE’s global security standards.
  • Monitor and assess CORE’s policies, procedures, and programming to ensure compliance with internal and government requirements. 
  • Coordinate and report the response to any incidents
  • Act as the safety and security focal point for all inquiries and requests from CORE HQ, regional office, and external partners

  • Requirements
  • Ability to work independently within a regional team. 
  • Clear and sensitive communicator with internal and external stakeholders as a representative of CORE. 
  • Strong commitment to CORE’s central values and humanitarian principles.
  • Effective performer under extreme circumstances including stress, high security risks and harsh living conditions. 
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity. 
  • Experience and ability to live and work in diverse cultural contexts in a culturally appropriate manner. 
  • Capacity to make accurate self-assessment particularly in high stress and high security contexts.
  • 3 – 5 years humanitarian aid experience in conflict zones/ medium – high risk areas of intervention.
  • English/Ukrainian fluency required. Other languages desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing security tools, guidelines, and systems.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in professional security related fields.
  • Strong assessment, evaluation, analysis, and strategic planning skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Humanitarian/Human rights/Refugee Law. 
  • First Aid Knowledge or a life sustaining level (CPR, EMT) with the ability to train staff in the field.
