Listing Description
The person in this position will design and assist with the successful implementation of new security solutions in partnership with the business units and Global IT teams. The team member will contribute to the development of Enterprise Security Architecture models and “patterns”. The person will also develop and execute plans in partnership with appropriate business unit and Global IT teams to ensure that newly acquired companies and/or new business partners comply with MDT's IT Security polices, standards & practices prior to their migration to/integration with MDT's network. Likewise, for divestitures, the person will work with the appropriate business unit and Global IT teams to develop and execute plans to ensure information risks are managed before and during the transition period.Listen to and understand the business requirements and translate those requirements, along with IT security requirements, into solution designs and implementation plans.
Work with business development to assess security of new business opportunities (such as acquisitions/divestitures). Identify security risks, provide plans to reduce the risk and support the efforts to implement.

Consult on pre-existing information security solutions. Conduct interviews, analyze design documents, assess threat and vulnerability information related to applications and infrastructure components; evaluate security compliance and overall security risk based on corporate policies, security requirements documentation, industry best practices, and legal & regulatory requirements. Assess the security controls and determine residual risks of infrastructure and applications, communicate those controls and risks to the appropriate parties, and work collaboratively across the enterprise to eliminate or reduce the identified risks.
Work with appropriate internal IT application, infrastructure, project teams and support teams to ensure that appropriate security controls are identified and implemented within relevant phases of all ongoing IT processes.
Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices for “full stack” security, including new and developing areas, to identify opportunities for operational security improvements at Medtronic.
Work with minimal supervision towards predetermined GSO goals.
Contribute as a member of the team to the overall group’s success, including the willingness and ability to share information, cross-train with others, and support each other to ensure the team’s overall success.
Identify opportunities to define standard security patterns to increase the efficiency of providing secure solutions to the business.
