Working at Atlassian

Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

We have an office in Bengaluru but as we continue to expand our footprint in India, we can hire eligible candidates remotely anywhere in India.

Atlassian creates software that empowers everyone from small start-ups to large enterprises. We build tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to help teams across the world become more nimble, creative, and aligned - collaboration is the heart of every product we dream of at Atlassian.

Atlassian helps teams everywhere change the world. Our products are revolutionizing the software industry and helping teams collaborate and craft the magic that delivers their best work. Think NASA launching the Rover on Mars or Cochlear gifting those born deaf with the ability to hear, your work directly impacts the products they use to advance humanity.

We’re looking for people who want to write the future and who believe that we can accomplish so much more together than apart. At Atlassian, we’re committed to an environment where everyone has the autonomy and freedom to thrive, as well as the support of like-minded colleagues who are motivated by a common goal to: Unleash the potential of every team

We're expanding our security Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) capabilities and looking for smart, technical, people to help us build and run new monitoring/analytics systems to detect and prevent data loss in Atlassian. You must have a solid understanding of DLP and CASB, as well as network, system and application security and should be considered great in at least one by your peers.

Your day to day activity will include:
  • Developing detections and policies to enhance Atlassian's DLP and CASB capabilities.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts generated by our DLP/CASB tools.
  • Run and manage security investigations
  • Perform investigations on a wide variety of events from various sources to determine whether they pose a threat to Atlassian
  • Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security incidents
  • Develop automation to improve Atlassian's security practices
  • Advocate security and secure practices throughout Atlassian
  • Collaborate with internal teams Legal, Privacy, and Incident Response on investigations

  • On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • 7+ years experience working in security
  • Experience working with data protection technologies including DLP and CASB platforms
  • Experience analysing log events for signs of malicious activity and identifying signs of compromise
  • Understanding of insider threat models and experience performing complex analysis on insider threat investigations
  • Relevant work experience in security and incident investigation
  • Fluency in any modern programming languages (preferably Python, Ruby, Java or Go)
  • Written code to complete security tasks
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Experience building and delivering projects from start to finish
  • Passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal skills

  • It's great, but not required, if you have:

  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud service platform
  • Experience with malware analysis
  • Experience with threat hunting and threat modelling
  • Contributions to the security community or open source projects
  • Data analytics experience
  • Our perks & benefits

To support you at work and play, our perks and benefits include ample time off, an annual education budget, paid volunteer days, and so much more.
