About the role


As the Director of Security at Teampay, you will coordinate our security efforts across the company ensuring that we procure, build, and operate software and systems that support and protect Teampay’s employees and customers. This role includes supporting the teams that build our infrastructure and data systems, helping the software engineers understand how to secure their code, and collaborating with our IT team to secure company assets. This leadership role covers a broad range of focus areas including infrastructure security, application security, data security and data privacy, and information technology. 


What you will do:



  • Hire, grow, and support a high performing security organization with a mix of security engineers and third-party partners and help drive preventative measures throughout Teampay’s systems.

  • Assess and educate the company on the current threat and attack landscape, latest security trends and principles.

  • Design and implement plans to satisfy regulatory and compliance requirements related to security and privacy.

  • Build and leverage deep expertise in the FinTech industry, particularly around PCI, credit cards, risk management, funds flow, and payment systems to advise our teams.

  • Communicate security risks in business terms that can be clearly understood at all levels of the organization.

  • Set Teampay’s security vision around IT enterprise security, application security, vulnerability management and incident management. 

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Information Technology teams to ensure security is championed throughout their processes.

  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and policy review processes. Provide periodic reports to executive management as necessary.

  • Work with outside vendors as appropriate for items such as scanning, incident response and penetration assessments.


Common candidate qualifications include:



  • 7+ years experience in security leadership roles with relevant experience in a combination of product security engineering, IT, application development and support, and cyber security. Previous enterprise-wide leadership experience is required.

  • Experience in leading teams to build systems, practices and policies that comply with important security standards, such as SOC2, ISO27001 and/or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

  • Experience working either across software engineering and security operations or software engineering in collaboration with security operations teams to drive security measures.

  • CISSP, CISM, CRISC and/or CISA certification is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of global data privacy practices and standards, with GDPR, CCPA, and/or PIPEDA expertise strongly preferred.

  • Broad experience with Cloud-based technologies: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, G Suite, Salesforce, or other Cloud-based technologies.

  • Experience with PCI DSS including service provider certification and QSAs.

  • You have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
