This large and varied attack surface gives GitHub a somewhat unique set of problems to solve. As GitHub develops new features and services we need people who are creative and can come up with innovative ways to hunt down spammers and hackers alike to eradicate them from the site.
As a member of GitHub's Security team you will help build new tools to improve our defenses, build integrations between internal and external services, and add new layers to our existing countermeasures all to further our security and anti-spam efforts.

Writing and reviewing front and back-end code.
Documenting the systems you help build.
Encouraging the technical growth of your peers.
Working with your team to define and prioritize projects.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
Experience with GraphQL or REST based API development.
Solid knowledge of design principles.
Preferred Experience
Experience with machine learning and/or stream processing.
Experience in analyst fields.
Experience fighting spam, malware, fraud, or attack activity at scale.
Experience with data visualization.
Understanding of common data visualization techniques.
