You will own the security policy and posture at Airbyte. You will both identify vulnerabilities and help automate systems to make us safer. You will create and implement systems for global compliance. You will translate legal requirements into technical requirements by working with our law team. You will source and disseminate external security audits. You will lead others toward a more safe place.
This job differs from some other security roles in that we want you to be able to implement some of your own suggestions to help automate our security stance. You will be a part of the Production Engineering team. Our team solves problems related to production with a focus on empathy and the end user experience. We are excited to work with you.
- Find creative solutions to complex questions, such as how to balance development velocity trade offs with a secure production environment
- Simplify manual security processes into a clear and opinionated path forward
- Make meaningful security design decisions to scale Airbyte into the future
- Understand the largest manual compliance and security pain points for specific teams and help both plan and build solutions that work for that team
- Improve security with a focus on the human experience
- Communicate clearly with your end user: the engineers
- Choose understandable solutions over clever solutions
- Contribute to and help shape Production Engineering team’s roadmap. You will have a say here
- Drive and participate in major architectural initiatives
- Own the success of Airbyte! (But like for real… we want to hear what you have to say)
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Deep interest in the practical application of security
- Interest in compliance based projects (GDPR/SOC2/etc…)
- Excellent communication skills
- A desire to understand how developers and customers are affected by the choices you make
- Proficiency in writing automation with a focus toward readability
- Deep expertise with CI/CD systems, preferably Github Actions and Helm.
- Experience writing code in Java or python
- Intermediate level of experience with gradle, git and Docker
- Willing to work remote
