Palo Alto Networks has a widely deployed security platform that gives us access to information on a broad range of threats from around the world. We use this data to better protect our customers, but also as a source for our research to identify threat actors, their motivations and tactics. Our team is tasked with combining our internal and open source data to produce intelligence products that others can use to better understand the threats they face. Members of the team must be able to correlate information and data from many sources to make assessments of an attacker’s motivations and future actions.

The right applicant for this role should have experience working in public cloud environments and with the tools that support them. A strong understanding of containers as well as the services provided by the major public cloud providers will be important. If you are googling Kubernetes right now, this one probably isn't right for you.

Unit 42 is a remote-first team, but this position could also work out of our offices in Santa Clara, CA or Reston, VA.Identify and investigate intrusions and data breaches occurring in public cloud environments.

Collaborate with peers and industry partners on research and data sharing initiatives.

Develop small-scale tools to assist with automation of collection and processing of public cloud data to identify trends.

Write white papers and blogs to share our finding.

Present new research at conference and in customer briefings.
