JOB SUMMARY


The Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Intern contributes to the ongoing development and advancement of the firm’s cybersecurity and risk program. The Cybersecurity and Risk team is charged with upholding the confidentiality and integrity of firm data, systems, and facilities in compliance with organizational policies and standards.  Members of this team are nimble and enjoy wearing multiple hats. A GRC Intern at GCM Grosvenor should expect to spend time managing business continuity and disaster recovery efforts, engaging with engineering and infrastructure teams to execute control reviews, and providing users with cybersecurity training and support.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES           


The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:



  • Communicate with all staff in matters related to cybersecurity and security awareness.

  • Monitor and report on the controls for the firm’s information and technology systems.

  • Partner with other teams in technology to mature and maintain security posture and controls.

  • Partner with others technology teams and departments to facilitate business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.

  • Support the firm’s compliance program, ensuring IT activities, processes, and procedures meet defined requirements, policies, and regulations.

  • Support audits, compliance checks and external assessment processes for internal / external auditors.

  • Utilize common security toolset to identify issues and analyze compliance with existing policies and procedures.

  • Provide input, assist with documentation, and review policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


 


EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:



  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Visio

  • Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker

  • Highly attentive to detail and accuracy at all levels

  • Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions

  • Must be capable of working well independently as well as in a collaborative environment

  • Must be able to communicate effectively

  • Interest in cybersecurity and learning CIS Framework

  • Interest in financial services and/or investment management a plus

  • Studying Information Technology a plus

  • Security certifications are a plus
