RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the preparation and execution of select event security operations for MLB’s special events, including the World Series, All-Star Game, Mexico Series, London Series, Little League Classic, Winter Meetings, and other domestic and international events and meetings.
- Coordinate MLB security intelligence monitoring generally and assist other department personnel with managing security intelligence advance work for MLB’s special events.
- Maintain strong relationships and coordinate with international, federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement to develop and implement security plans for such events.
- Ensure that MLB’s event security operations are consistent with sports industry best practices and that the physical security strategy is aligned with the business needs of MLB.
- Assist in the facilitation, maintenance, and upkeep of the BSOP with the 30 Clubs. Make recommendations on improvements or changes to the BSOP based on emerging trends and professional expertise.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations to close security gaps and vulnerabilities with a heavy emphasis on incident avoidance versus reaction. Create metrics to measure the effectiveness of the event security program and conduct after action reviews.
- Manage a portion of MLB’s Resident Security Agent program, which utilizes contracted active-duty and recently retired law enforcement personnel to work part-time in all Major League cities and at all MLB events.
- Conduct appropriate investigations related to physical security where and when required and manage effective referrals of other potential investigations to the Department of Investigations and Information Security group. Manage incident response and assist with protocol adjustments and legal matters associated with security incidents as necessary.
- Represent MLB in appropriate professional organizations and continuing education programs.
- Perform other related international and domestic duties as required and directed by the Security & Ballpark Operations Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10 years of law enforcement or intelligence experience
- Must have significant event security planning experience
- Ability to liaise with domestic and international law enforcement
- This position is based in New York City but requires extensive domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice and for extended periods
- Remote work may be permitted, depending on candidate qualifications and MLB needs

- Ability to obtain security clearance preferred

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
