The Information Security team is seeking an Information Security Intern who will contribute to Sumitovant’s security strategy and help identify gaps in protections. This internship opportunity is ideal for someone looking to explore a career in the InfoSec field and to actively contribute to the growing security needs of our company.  At a baseline, you should have a general understanding of cyber security with some technical skills (e.g. basic understanding of security principles, scripting ot programming is a plus).  As the Information Security Intern, you will assist in finding and remediating security issues, create reports and remediation paths.  You will also work closely with the information security team and third-party firms to improve the security program and protect all digital assets. This position will report to the Director(s) of Information Security, with occasional direction from Head of infrastructure on special projects.  The Information Security team is part of a dynamic and cutting-edge Technology team at Sumitovant, and we are seeking creative minds and problem solvers to join our team.


Key Responsibilities and Projects:



  • Evidence collection for security incidents

  • Mapping vulnerabilities

  • Threat Hunting across specific systems

  • Tabletop security scenarios

  • Identifying gaps in Security frameworks


Desired Qualifications:



  • Desire to learn about Information Technology/Computer Information Systems and how these systems can be compromised

  • Able to work comfortably under pressure, and a quick learner who can adapt to a fast-moving environment with frequently changing landscape and tight deadlines

  • Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once

  • Resourceful and relentless: independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations

  • Innovative problem solver with the ability to think “outside the box”

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of information technology and willingness to learn about technology environments

  • Experience with multiple technologies is a plus (example: Windows, Firewalls (functionality), Microsoft Security, Virus Security etc.

  • Awareness of cyber security trends and hacking techniques is a plus

  • Programing language(s) like Python, Shell scripting, HTML, JavaScript, & SQL are a plus


Internship Requirements:



  • 10-20 hours per week

  • Minimum commitment of six (6) weeks required, with the ability to extend employment (but not beyond 6 months)

  • Eastern Time zone working hours required, remote work acceptable

  • Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled part-time or full-time at an accredited college or university
