Position Overview:  As a Rackspace Security Risk Specialist you’ll be part of a fanatical that assists in development and execution of Information Security Policies, and IT Security Risk Management best practices globally through accurately assessing threats posed by risk concerns raised across the enterprise.
 
Work Location: 100% Remote from anywhere within the 48 continental United States.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·       Work with appropriate stakeholders across the enterprise, performs and scores global IT Security Risk Assessments, and coordinates with the Risk Owners to ensure Risk Remediation Plans are implemented, tracked, and reported on, to a timely conclusion.
·       Create risk remediation plans with business owners and follows-through in the implementation of requisite changes.
·       Be an advocate in development and dissemination of overall Information Security program globally.
·       Perform deep-dives into the nature, history, and solutions, of assigned risk concerns.
·       Provides accurate and articulate written and oral status updates on all in-process assessments and top risks being remediated.  Status to include relevant milestones, associated timelines, and potential roadblocks.
·       Thoroughly documents and tracks all aspects of the efforts around researching, assessing, scoring, and tracking risk remediations.
·       Communicate effectively (both written and orally) with technical and business resources across the enterprise.
·       Collaborate across the organization to execute and mature the Risk Assessment process, including following established procedures for processes, methodologies, and reports.
·       Participate in cross-functional workgroups and planning meetings to promote ideal solutions that meet the objectives of both the business and the IT Risk Mgt, and Information Security teams.
·       Escalates control failures, and enterprise level risks, to management- If ideal solutions cannot be found.
·       Update internal control matrices, to support continually changing/evolving environments.
·       Adhere to Rackspace security policies and procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s):     
·       Well versed in Excel to extract relevant information from large flat files – a proficiency with pivot tables is a necessary skill
·       A strong familiarity/experience with incident and change tracking systems such as Service Now is necessary
·       Knowledge of application and system vulnerabilities and exposures
·       Knowledge of basic system, network, and operating system hardening techniques
·       Strong knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) principles and tenets (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
·       Moderate knowledge of network architecture concepts including topology, protocols, and components
·       Knowledge of network communication protocols and directory services
·       Knowledge of network security architecture and associated risks
·       Knowledge of system administration concepts for Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems
·       Knowledge of security policies and practices
·       Practical Information Security experience in developing and maintaining secure architectures for large enterprises

Preferred KSA’s:
·       Practical information security experience in developing and maintaining secure architectures for large enterprises
·       Experience with the Archer tool to help automate many functions

Experience/Education/Certification:
·       At least 6 years IT experience and 2 years of related Risk Mgt experience.
·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field is preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay and Benefits: The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $63,900-$82,900.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. on benefits offered is here:  https://rackspace.jobs/benefits/
