Team Description:
Kitware is actively seeking a full-time Information Security Engineer that will assist in protecting company information through security policies and procedures, engineering security architecture as well as permissions management, application and system security software, patching, automation, and incident response.

In This Position You Will:
  • Develop strategies and cybersecurity plans with the IT and Compliance departments to address current and future security needs including improvements to security infrastructure and practices.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enforcement of policies and procedures that relate to IT security.
  • Continuously identify and develop security and productivity-enhancing improvements through automation, better procedures, and other innovations.
  • Perform security incident tracking; lead resolution of security incident and vulnerability detections.
  • Provide appropriate training and communications to staff on IT security measures, safe data collection and transfer procedures, security products, and general security responsibilities.
  • Auditing of organizational IT assets.
  • Coordinate internal and external efforts to perform vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, and penetration testing including remediation efforts.
  • Support certification tasks for various IT systems.
  • Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
  • Keep the organization informed of changing policies/direction of Government compliance issues.

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required.
  • Basic knowledge of applying IT security principles, methods, and tools to the IT security environment.
  • Basic knowledge of applying IT security principles and methods to technical documentation methods; and performance management methods.
  • Knowledge applying security principles and methods to performance management methods.
  • Knowledge of applying IT security regulations and policies.
  • Due to contractual requirements, this position requires US Citizenship and requires a willingness and ability to obtain a security clearance.
