The Role:
Proofpoint’s Threat Systems group is looking for a seasoned engineer to work on designing, building and deploying a large-scale, cloud-based sandboxing service.
The sandboxing service employs cutting-edge technology to detect, analyze and produce forensics for the latest threats from the most sophisticated threat actors. It is a core component of Proofpoint’s security platform and is leveraged across our product portfolio to protect our customers from threats coming in through e-mail, social media and SaaS applications. We are looking for an engineer with broad technical experience in multiple areas, creative problem-solving skills, a love for coding and technology and a “get stuff done” attitude.
Your day-to-day:
Be an early member of a high-performing team of engineers responsible for building a critical new cloud-based service
Take end-to-end responsibility to develop resilient and scaleable components/features and get them integrated into the service
Write custom code or integrate open source technologies as needed to find solutions to problems
Help define processes and build tools as needed to scale the solution and the team
Contribute innovative ideas for the service to stay ahead of threat actors
Collaborate with teammates and co-workers in partner teams
Ideal candidates will have:
Spent 5 or more years in the trenches of the software industry, delivering quality software that matters to people that care
Many “been there, done that” stories related to shipping and maintaining major software products for customers
Excellent coding skills in an object-oriented language (Java, C++, Python, Ruby, C#)
A breadth of technical skills and know how to use the right tool for the job
Strong motivation and ability to learn new technologies and domains
A positive can-do attitude and bring a passion for excellence to the workplace
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Professional experience with AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elastic Search a bonus
Knowledge of cybersecurity, malware analysis, threat detection and/or sandboxing technology a bonus
