Planet Technologies is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, deploy, maintain and continually improve security outcomes on behalf of our customers using relevant Microsoft-based security platforms.

Technical Requirements
  • In the role of Security Engineer, you will work with our enterprise customers to assess, envision, plan, design and oversee implementation of security and compliance capabilities and controls leveraging Microsoft services and industry cybersecurity practices
  • In this role, you will work with enterprise customers in a strategic fashion to modernize and transform cybersecurity in their organizations
  • Understands Customer/Partner Technical Environment
  • Gathers customer/partner insights from a broad range of stakeholders as well as the main business sponsor to shape and form both the definition and ongoing execution of projects
  • Works with customer/partner stakeholders (e.g., Security Team, Enterprise Architects, Development Team, Operations Team) and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach to determine if changes are needed to the business solution
  • Contributes to Microsoft-centric operations and cadences to align with customer feedback
  • Uses evidence-based approach to represent the customer/partner as a customer advocate and share insights with Product Engineering teams and the business with a view to improving Microsoft technologies, products, and offerings such that they can better meet customer/partner needs
  • Architecture Design and Deployment
  • Leverages a structured approach to Architecture Projects using existing methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Iterative) that make use of existing reference architecture and established architectural styles and design patterns
  • Proposes and develops new solutions to scale across multiple customers/partners
  • Defines and documents the architecture through an architecture description document, an architecture decisions log, and a requirements/constraints traceability matrix to communicate the value proposition of the business solution along with the project approach
  • Experience with any of the following:
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365 -  (Microsoft Threat Protection)
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps – (Microsoft Cloud App Security)
  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoints – (Microsoft Defender ATP)
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud- (Azure Log Analytics)
  • Microsoft Defender Application Guard – (Microsoft Application Guard)

  • Help internal sales team provide solutions to customers requirements
  • Ability to implement related technologies and understand their dependencies in complex enterprise environments 
  • Ability to proactively collaborate across internal, customer, and key partner teams 
  • Ability to lead and provide strategic vision to large technical teams on complex projects
  • Provide leadership across practice areas 
  • Proactively provides process improvement or standardization on elements that will have broad impact 
  • Thought leader on solving problems in complex environments
  • Effectively articulate escalations and communicate progress to stakeholders 
  • Has ownership stake in the successful technical delivery of complex projects in large enterprise environments
  • Has ownership stake in the delivery of the scope while assisting in managing customer expectations

  • Education, Certifications, or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with appropriate background and knowledge of current industry technologies/standards for enterprise datacenters and cloud services. Six (6) years of work experience in computer and information technology related field may be considered as substitution for degree
  • Prior experience in information security/information assurance roles in may be substituted for education requirements (e.g. examples of experience with implementing and managing FISMA, FedRAMP, DoDI 8500.2, HIPAA, or PCI requirements)
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred
    Experience: 4+ years
    Location: Mountain or Pacific Time Zone Preferred
    Travel: 0 - 25%
