WHO YOU ARE

You can demonstrate experience in a SOC, Cyber Incident Response function and/or Computer Forensics role for at least for at least 5 years. You have a good understanding of security threats (e.g. malware, network threats, etc.). You have experience in various network and computer security investigation tools (SIEM, NIDS, Firewalls, EnCase, etc.). Experience with computer forensic tools and working knowledge of firewalls/networks. It’s an asset if you have experience in Cloud based environments.

You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing (at least one of the following) CISSP, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GCFE.

You give meaning to data analysis. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You're confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.

You need to be legally eligible to work in Canada at the location(s) specified above and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

This is a regular full time role with a schedule of 37.5 hours each week.

There is an 24x7 on-call component (team rotation).

Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required.Investigation Support - Apply advanced investigation support for information security events and privacy events escalated by the Level 1 Security Operations Centre in an effort to minimize impact to the organization. Provide forensic activities to analyze systems and networks for indicators of compromise and determine root cause analysis. Provide mentorship and leadership qualities to the team.

Security Technology and Process Support - Provide technical insight, recommendations, and leadership into the development and support of all security operational processes, procedures and tools used for ensuring the integrity of Information Security. Provide direction to the implementation of mitigating controls for incident containment and resolution. Support monitoring criteria and processes to ensure that industry best practices are maintained.

Relationship Building – Collaborate within your team and peers to maximize success, build & maintain processes, and assist the audit group with audit activities to fulfill the mandate of our security controls.
