WHY WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU:

Retool aspires to be the single best way companies build internal tools. To achieve this goal, security is absolutely essential. Retool both handles our clients’ most sensitive data and offers a Turing-complete coding environment, so security is a core criterion for everything we build. We want you to provide the security expertise and firepower to earn our clients’ trust.

We’re looking for many Security functions, ranging from Application Security to Product Security and Cloud Security. You will work with colleagues across the entire company, including senior leadership, to strengthen Retool’s security posture and design the future of Retool’s security team. You will work in close collaboration with our software engineering team, helping them to ship secure, high-impact products.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Work with not only the Security team, but other engineering teams on new projects and initiatives to improve the security and resilience of the company.


• Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities—you will write code!


• Perform technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews.


• Champion security and secure practices throughout Retool.


• Drive evaluations to identify and remediate attack vectors against Retool products and platforms.


• Help manage our pen-testing and bug bounty programs.

THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING:

• Have proven experience working in a security team OR are a software engineer with a keen interest in working on security projects.


• Have deployed features to business-critical production applications.


• Have worked with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (e.g. Azure or AWS), Docker, or web security.


• Have communicated your work through specs or design documents.


• Are excited about the prospect of cross-functional, collaborative work—you’ll work with engineering, sales, people ops, finance, and more.


• Have experience with or are excited about working in a startup environment—you will be working in an open-ended environment and playing a major role in prioritizing the work the team takes on.
