As a team we're responsible for Making Simply Business resilient to information threats by laying solid foundations that significantly reduce the risk of security incidents and data breaches.

We do this by ensuring that Simply Business' information security policies, processes, procedures and technologies provide ongoing oversight, management, performance measurement, and course correction of all security activities, whether it’s physical or cyber-related.

As a Senior Information Security analyst you’ll:
  • Report to the Head of Security Assurance, using a level of autonomy to assist the US and UK business in managing its information risks;
  • Address security issues as an enabler, not a blocker;
  • Deliver security services in an agile/lean environment;
  • Articulate the ‘why’ behind what you do, to both technical and non-technical people; and
  • Contribute to establishing a security culture throughout the business.

  • What we’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated, self-starter who has:
  • In-depth experience of all aspects of security governance, risk and compliance.
  • Experience of security standards essential, particularly ISO 27001 and NIST, and their application and use in security governance, risk and compliance activities.
  • Understanding of PCI DSS and experience in ensuring adequate compliance.
  • Experience writing and implementing security policies, procedures and guidelines, specifically for a US audience when required.
  • In-depth experience in security risk management practices.
  • Experience and understanding of differing compliance requirements across the US, e.g. NYDFS and data protection.
  • Awareness of data protection and how InfoSec supports privacy.
  • Experience with audits and working with the business to resolve any non-compliance issues.
  • In-depth experience in vendor and third party supplier assessments.
  • Experience in delivering security awareness activities.

  • In addition we would like:
  • A motivated, ambitious self-starter who can ‘hit the ground running’ and who can operate effectively as part of a global team, but who can also operate independently when required.
  • Someone with great communication skills - who can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from end-users to C-suite execs and who’s able to effectively articulate security information both to technical and non-technical people across the organization.
  • An individual who can work with key US stakeholders across the business to enhance and adapt current Security Assurance working practices to ensure we are operating effectively across both the UK and the US.

    What's going on with work from home and return to the office?

    More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.

    We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.

    We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
