During this internship, you will develop professional skills in Information Security, such as Cloud Security, Governance, Compliance management, Risk management (GRC), Vulnerability Management, and Incident Monitoring and Response. This position will allow you to learn more about the different aspects of an effective Information Security Program and gain practical experience as you work alongside Information Security professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Brightspot’s Threat Detection function in identifying and mitigating cyber threats
  • Assist the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) functions at Brightspot in identifying, documenting, and communicating cyber security risks
  • Assist in creating tickets and follow-up with users and team members on security-related tasks
  • Use various tools and system dashboards to generate reports and analyze data to remediate further and help improve the security posture
  • Assist in Brightspot’s security awareness program
  • Participate in cyber security incident response processes
  • Assist the information security team with operations, processes, and documentation

  • Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the latest Cyber Security threats and trends
  • Knowledge of databases, application security, AWS, incident management
  • Strong analytical, structured problem solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Education and/or Experience
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Three years of coursework completed by May 2023
