2021 was a year of tremendous growth for us and 2022 will see us kicking into overdrive. We’re looking for a Senior Security Engineer to help us build out our Security Engineering function at Jellyfish. Ideally you have experience in building a security engineering program from the ground up, and have past experience in platform security for SaaS product company. You must be comfortable working in partnership with product and engineering peers, as you are building security features and writing high quality code. This is a great opportunity to be a member of a high agency engineering organization where you can help shape the features your team builds and how your team builds them.

What you’ll do:



  • Design and engineer scalable security solutions for our core infrastructure and platform

  • Develop automated remedial workflows to drive preventative security measures

  • Assist in the development of strategic roadmaps that align product and team developments to business requirements and top security risks

  • Lead and assist in conducting threat modeling, security design reviews, security architecture, pentesting and customer bug reports.

  • Advise and assist internal teams with security topics and concerns

  • Actively participate in a culture supportive of growth and inclusion on your team

  • Strong focus and commitment to the evolving security needs of engineering teams

  • You consider both the needs of the user and the needs of the business when designing or proposing a solution

  • You are great at asking questions, figuring out what needs to be done, building consensus, and executing

  • You are a strong programmer with some set of programming tools, even if they're not the ones we are using

  • You love learning new things and sharing knowledge with others

  • You have strong communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a distributed team

  • You are eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer

  • Located in EST or CST time zone (preferred)


 


Bonus points if:



  • You bring strong skills with our technology stack (Python, Prefect, Dask, Django, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Circle CI, Honeycomb)

  • You have worked in a startup before, and loved it

  • You bring experience and opinions about the different ways security and engineering teams can work and the tools they use
