Job Description

The Strategic Transformation Team has an Architect role within a cross functional Team of Engineers, Developers, Analysts, and Administrators comprised of both Mandiant and client team members. The Architect is accountable for supporting the Team in defining future state, translating desired business outcomes into execution, then validating business outcomes after completion.  The Architect must have experience working with teams to achieve results, defining business-level acceptance criteria, developing test plans, validating outcomes, and working to support a culture of continuous improvement.

The Architect is a position that requires advanced skills and experience in solution design, design patterns, and acceptance test development. You have a keen eye for security, resiliency, reliability, repeatability, predictability in the solution we deliver. The solutions you design enable then incremental release of risk reduction in pursuit of the end goal. The Architect must be capable of working with teams to remediate risk in collaboration with our clients. Candidates for this position must be willing and capable of providing and receiving feedback.

Candidates for this position must enjoy working as a member of a cross functional team in a rapidly changing client environment, be innovative and creative in overcoming constraints, and have a passion for protecting client data and corporate assets from diverse threats using “shift left” techniques.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop solution-level diagrams showing future logical architecture
  • Develop acceptance criteria for business outcomes to ensure solution definition is complete and responsive to the client’s needs
  • Incorporate Mandiant hardening recommendations into acceptance criteria
  • Develop test plans and criteria to validate business outcomes
  • Assist client Stakeholders and Architects with testing and validation
  • Contribute to project charters which provide background on an initiative, desired business outcomes, dependencies, and risks.
  • Contribute to and assist in the prioritization of release plans which define near-term business outcomes in support of the desired business outcome(s).
  • Develop project backlog and participate in backlog refinement sessions with the team
  • Develop metrics for and update progress toward the desired business outcome for the team and stakeholders
  • Participate in retrospectives with the team upon completion of releases and project charters
  • Participate in daily standup meetings with the team to track progress and remove barriers
  • Pair with client Engineers to identify dependencies
  • Collaborate with peers and multiple teams to identify improvements and identify areas for improvement to increase quality or team velocity

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years of security architecture, information technology architecture, or any other similar cyber security experience.
  • 2+ years of working as a team member using Agile and/or Lean
  • 2+ years of using Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, or similar technologies, to define and track work.
  • 1+ years experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • 1+ years experience with Active Directory

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of network devices such as firewalls, switches, and routers
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Effective communication and listening skills, a thorough approach to complex problem solving, decision-making ability, and a high motivation towards setting and delivering "excellence."
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, positive, and creative in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment.
  • Willingness to innovate to improve quality, efficiency, and team velocity
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
  • Effective written and communication skills
  • Experience with workload automation and orchestration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages such as Cloud Formations and Terraform.
  • Experience using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
  • Experience leading teams of Developers
  • Experience defining and documenting use cases
  • Experience using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience working in Scrum and/or Kanban
  • One or more of the following certifications are recommended:  ASW Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Technologies, Azure DevOps Engineer, CompTIA Security +; CompTIA Network +; Information systems Security Professional (CISSP); SANS-GIAC certification (Security Essentials); TOGAF

 


Additional Information

Minimum Salary: $110,000. Final salary will be determined commensurately with cost of living, experience level, and/or any other legally permissible considerations. 

Incentive Compensation: Eligibility for annual bonus subject to individual and company performance; eligibility for award of Restricted Stock Units subject to eligibility requirements, approval from Mandiant’s Compensation Committee, and vesting terms
