We are the information security team at Yahoo; known as "The Paranoids".
 

Responsibilities:

Do you want to see creative security research? Are you passionate about operational efficiency? The Paranoids seek a security engineer who will defend Yahoo’s products through execution of our Bug Bounty program and drive innovative solutions to global security challenges. As a Technical Operations Security Engineer on the Paranoids' Bug Bounty team, you will have the opportunity to directly work with external security researchers, guide Bug Bounty Lifecycle projects, perform program analysis, and work with the team to host educational and live hacking events impacting the overall enterprise.
 

Activities include the following:

  • Maintain operational procedures and automation.

  • Lead the efficient and effective report triage and execution of program runbooks.

  • Identify root causes that can be addressed at scale.

  • Work with all internal partners to ensure complete coverage of the Yahoo portfolio.

  • Represent Yahoo and The Paranoids at sponsored/hosted events!

  • Deliver Bug Bounty Promotions that build lasting value or provide for immediate needs.

  • Assist with annual and project planning.

  • Provide mentorship on effective countermeasures for identified vulnerabilities.

  • Provide domain expertise on encryption, security controls, and secure programming practices across Yahoo.

  • Support security policy, standards, and guidelines related to Information Security and secure application development.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying security concepts and engineering solutions.

  • Ability to engage with internal and external partners to review bug reports and recommend secure designs for a fast paced, engineering environment.
