Role Value Proposition:
In this role, the Principal Infrastructure Vulnerability Remediation Engineer will aid in driving the execution of a Global Infrastructure Vulnerability Remediation program to reduce security risks for MetLife. This role includes implementing a global strategy to govern, analyze, prioritize, and drive the execution of infrastructure vulnerability remediation, increasing MetLife's security posture. The position will help define the requirements and roadmap for remediation with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions and evangelize the vision to strengthen the security posture within MetLife, JV's, and 3rd party providers..
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Vulnerability Management team and business customers to deliver on business expectations, timelines, budgets and communicates impacts early and often in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priority
- Act as a technical expert across a broad range of infrastructure, network, applications development, cloud, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions meet the operational and security policies and standards of MetLife
- Establish and maintain global security standards, guidelines, metrics, and implement processes and procedures to ensure an acceptable risk level is maintained with adherence to a recognized framework
- Review daily vulnerability data to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and exposures
- Utilize data collected in analysis tool to rank, identify severity level and plan short- and long-term remediation and proactive countermeasures and controls
- Research capabilities with intellectual curiosity and critical thinking to determine the best ways to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities and threats within the MetLife infrastructure
- Continuously drive to improve remediation processes and team skillsets via automation for maximum efficiency and reliability
- Maintain and provide a detailed register of all open vulnerabilities, exceptions, and remediation actions to ensure constant improvement of the discovered risk surface
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Business Experience
- 8+ years experience leading technical projects and implementations in an IT environment
- Demonstrated success in executing and mobilizing large organizations around strategic initiatives within a global company
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships at all levels, work cross-organizationally, and lead through influence
- Resourcefulness; ability to creatively and independently get work done through influence and relationships
- Solutions-orientation; perceives and either resolves or escalates risks or obstacles as appropriate. Strong synthesis and learning agility; connects dots and thinks strategically about business planning, governance, and solutions.
- Ability to foster and drive organizational change through process optimization, change leadership, and the development of a strong network of partners
- Working knowledge of various industry security standards and frameworks ex, NIST, ISO, CIS
- Excellent presentation, written, oral, and relationship-building skills
- Technical Skills
- Familiar with products offered by industry-leading cybersecurity companies including, but not limited to:
- CrowdStrike, Splunk, Palo Alto, Solarwinds, Netbrain, and Cisco
- Familiar with cybersecurity products including, but not limited to:
- Kenna, Qualys, ForcePoint, Qradar, Abnormal Security, Adaptive Endpoint Health, Tanium, Active Directory, VPN, Venafi, OpenCTI, AttackIQ, Ransomware Guard, SCCM, and PowerBI
- Strong technical skills, including infrastructure and applications
- Windows OS, UNIX, Linux, MAC OS, Active Directory, Cisco, MS Azure, AWS
- Familiar with products offered by industry-leading cybersecurity companies including, but not limited to:
