The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Engineer to join our team. The Security Engineer will be responsible for safeguarding our systems, networks, and applications against threats, vulnerabilities, and potential attacks. This role will involve implementing and maintaining security protocols, ensuring compliance with security policies, and proactively identifying and mitigating security risks.
Your Day
- Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect systems and information.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and other security assessments.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing timely investigation and resolution.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards across the organization.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate security into all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring a secure system architecture and robust application security.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats and industry trends.
- Recommend security enhancements and system improvements to reduce risk.
- Participate in incident response planning and perform incident response activities.
What’s Required to Get Started
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 3+ years of working experience in a Security Engineer or similar role, with hands-on experience in cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and compliance requirements.
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, monitoring systems, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security technologies, and cryptography.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle complex security issues.
- Work experience with MikroTik routers, switches, and Ubiquiti environments.
Preferred Qualifications / Nice to have
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, OSCP) are a plus.
