The Director, DevOps & Information Security will execute on the technical direction in several advanced areas:  availability, reliability, performance, security, and compliance of the Restaurant365 products and services within the hosting infrastructure.  The individual focuses on high DevOps standards and quality and uses automation and oversight of SDLC processes to ensure robust and scalable solutions to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Restaurant365 platform for our customers. This role will be responsible for the technical ownership of team and projects.

How you'll add value:
  • Lead a team of DevOps and Information Security Engineers, as well as a Compliance specialist. 
  • Develop high functioning teams by hiring, mentoring, coaching, and reviewing progress.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and expertise with projects and mentoring the team members for professional growth.
  • Provide operational recommendations to your leaders for DevOps and Information Security around vision, design, development, security, scalability, provisioning and deployments.
  • Implement cost efficiencies for cloud infrastructure, tools, and licenses which support the Restaurant365 platform.
  • Stay aware of relevant and emerging technologies and implement changes within teams and coach engineers on new best practices, solutions, design patterns and implementations.
  • Lead initiatives for DevOps onboarding of new services, automation, tools, and infrastructure improvements. 
  • Secure the perimeter and internal networks, as well as application and infrastructure endpoints using security best practices, processes, benchmarks, and tools.
  • Implement and maintain an effective Security Vulnerability Management program.
  • Utilize the “Principle of Least Privileged” model for access controls.
  • Follow a continuous deployment, continuous integration model for server provisioning and application code deployment.
  • Interact, coordinate, and build collaborative working relationships with architects, developers, vendors, and internal business partners.
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends.
  • Communicate issues or project details effectively with direct reports, peers, and managers.
  • Lead emergency events in the DevOps and Information Security areas to resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • What you'll need to be successful in this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equally relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience.
  • Expert progressive knowledge of managing and securing Azure and AWS public cloud environments.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a development or engineering role.
  • Extensive experience with DevOps methodologies, processes, and framework.
  • Coding skills and a mindset to automate manual/repetitive tasks.
  • Expert knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible), infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), and version control with Git.
  • Expert knowledge of container technology and tool stacks (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Expert knowledge of monitoring websites, applications, services and event management with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Prometheus, etc.
  • Familiarity with privacy laws, data protection/security regulations, written contract language and frameworks, such as AICPA SOC1 Type 2/SOC2 Type 2, CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
  • Expertise in software development methodologies.
  • Creative engineering and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to break down tasks into stories and deliver incrementally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to analyze situations, respond independently, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a team player while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong business insight and judgment, team orientated, and provides a collaborative and inclusive style.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate sophisticated technical issues effectively and concisely to executives, team members and others.
