Information Security is integrated with the Technology division (860+ people), and is responsible for enabling secure innovation and business growth for 13,000 employees across 11 states. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer at Zions Bancorporation. This person will be an integral part of our Information Security Team and function as a technical leader within our Controls Management program.

What we expect:
The Controls Management team is responsible for implementing a consistent process for testing, automation, and continuous monitoring of the critical security controls safeguarding the bank’s information assets.
The Test Engineer will perform security control management and provide testing of technical process and security control effectiveness. This includes:
• Implementation, operation and maintenance of our framework for continuously testing and monitoring all information security controls
• Developing a knowledge of the underlying technologies used by security controls, and understand the objectives of security controls
• Gather control data, and produce management reports related to governance, risk and compliance
• Translate analytical data into precise and defined reports and communications and present reporting/testing results to peers and senior-level management

Other Relatable Skills:
• Understanding of complex software and system interactions.
• Knowledge of IT risk and assurance frameworks (e.g. FFIEC, NIST, PCI, SOX, COBIT).
• Experience with any of the following: security information and event management, forensics, penetration testing, threat intelligence, IS auditing, data analytics, or ethical hacking
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Certifications (A Plus)
• CompTIA Security+
• CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker
• GSEC: SANS GIAC Security Essentials
• CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional
• Splunk Certified Power UserSpecifically, the Test Engineer is responsible for:
• Maintaining the Information Security controls library and technical controls inventory
• Testing detective, preventative and administrative controls to prevent the unauthorized use, release, modification or destruction of data
• Developing and executing maintainable automation tests for controls assurance
• Participating in the full life cycle of a project to design and execute automated test scripts
• Documenting testing standards, procedures and process workflows
• Designing test plans for complex systems in accordance with overall testing strategy
• Ensuring that testing methods align with established frameworks
• Investigating and debugging test failures, updating tests or reporting bugs as necessary
• Ensuring proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used
• Developing and producing monthly metrics; key performance indicators and key risk indicators
• Enhancing monitoring systems used to detect and report control failures and security violations
• Identifying, reporting, and escalating security control failures and deficiencies
• Creating project status reports and providing regular updates to management
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement of the Bank’s cybersecurity program
