Join a high-performing Information Security group, responsible for ensuring Intercom remains secure & trusted for more than 25,000 businesses. As the manager of the Application Security team you will own Intercom R&D group’s Secure Development Lifecycle;. In particular and together with your team, you will own conducting security design reviews and threat modeling sessions as part of the release of new product features, the design and/or implementation of application-level secure guardrails to eradicate classes of security vulnerabilities throughout the product as well as our application-level threat detection strategy and response for any security event or incident impacting this ecosystem.
You will partner with Intercom’s R&D product teams and Infrastructure teams to identify & understand risks across Intercom’s product and assist them with their mitigation. Your team will use risk assessments, threat monitoring, application security reviews, along with controls and security tools to safeguard our people, products & customer data.

What will I be doing? 🚀
Driving the detection, monitoring & testing of application security vulnerabilities & raising the standards of secure application development via engineer education.
Working across our R&D teams to provide risk assessment, threat modeling, application security reviews, and vulnerability remediation
Managing security incidents & driving improvements in incident response.
Collaborating with Infosec leadership to shape group-level direction and strategy and deliver impact with the help of your team.
Partnering strongly with key stakeholders across our R&D teams to drive the security vision, strategy & roadmaps for our products.
Managing a team of product and security engineers with subject matter expertise in application security, the Intercom product and infrastructure.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team focused on fast, focused, high impact execution.
Supporting & driving security audits, assessments, and penetration testing
What skills do I need? 📖
Experience developing and supporting a team of engineers in their personal growth and career progression.
An ability to partner closely with engineering teams and leadership to deliver pragmatic, secure product solutions & processes.
Broad knowledge of application security vulnerability detection and remediation techniques, including penetration testing
Experience in performing proactive security assessments to identify and mitigate software security vulnerabilities
Demonstrated skillset in threat detection (e.g. SIEM management) and impact in a similar leadership role.
An ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.
