About the Opportunity:  

Sagent is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join a growing information security team responsible for securing next-generation, cloud-native financial technology systems, used by some of the largest mortgage lenders and loan servicers in the United States. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering security standards and solutions that scale across multi-cloud environments.  Your role will drive engineering teams evolve towards a DevSecOps model, build automation for cloud-based security controls, and serve as a formidable force for the “secure by design” vision across the enterprise. This role will have abundant opportunities to challenge the “status-quo” and work with cutting-edge technologies, tools, and platforms across all 3 major cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AWS).

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Develop and update cloud security standards and threat modeling processes.


• Design and build automation for cloud-based compliance, cloud security controls, cloud security reporting, etc.


• Perform cloud-based infrastructure architecture reviews, cloud security assessments, and threat modeling throughout the enterprise. 


• Assist our penetration testing partners with regular cloud-based offensive security activities.


• Support the information security team with cloud-focused regulatory & security compliance audits, and associated audit cadence activities throughout the year to support the enterprise compliance requirements.


• Provide consultation on cloud security requirements and best practices.


• Partner closely on security operations tasks with cross-functional teammates in Information Security, IT, DevOps, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:  

• Bachelor's degree in technology/information security-related field, or equivalent work experience.


• Extensive experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based security controls.


• Ability to enhance security through automation, continuous integration pipelines, and challenge existing processes/norms.


• Experience maintaining cloud infrastructure via Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IAC) technologies.


• Strong scripting experience in Python or similar.


• The habit of staying current on cloud security policies, standards, regulations, and best practices, as well as strong understanding of cloud-focused security risks and threats.


• Experience working with various CI/CD solutions such as Azure Pipelines/Azure DevOps.


• Experience building & managing SIEM (cloud-native preferred), and EDR/MDR/XDR solutions.


• Experience building and managing privileged identity solutions.


• Familiarity with “zero-trust” & “secure by design” security principles.


• Thorough understanding of CI/CD delivery, cloud automation, and DevSecOps methodologies.


• Understanding of different development workflows, such as trunk-based and git flow.


• Able to work independently with minimal guidance and act as coach to other team members as necessary.


• Communication experience, interpersonal experience, and experience working cross-functionally with various teams.
