Are you a security engineer who has worn many hats over the years? Do you have stories to tell about how companies – large and small – have both succeeded and failed in their security programs? And are you ready to be a technical leader to help guide a growing security team to focus on the right problems, the right priorities, and the right solutions? If so, then we should talk! The person in this role will report directly to the BetterUp CISO and will be broadly responsible for technical strategy and technical execution of our security program.


What you’ll do:



  • Partner with the CISO to define and execute on technical strategy for BetterUp’s Information Security organization.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to understand risks and opportunities throughout the business where Information Security should engage.

  • Mentor and guide staff throughout the Information Security organization to ensure project alignment and to lay the foundation for future scalability.

  • Leverage your technical expertise in product security, IT security, security compliance, software engineering, data governance, and/or data analysis to contribute to high impact projects from teams across the organization.

  • Demonstrated skills in aligning security projects, risk management, and business needs.

  • Deep technical expertise in product security or IT security (or both!).

  • Experience with cloud security within an AWS environment.

  • Strong mentorship skills to help people grow across the Information Security organization.
