Job location:(Ottawa, Canada - Hybrid)


About the role:


Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Information Security, the Cyber Security Engineer, as a proficient-level professional with well-defined experiences, is responsible for implementing & verifying security controls in data-center or commercial cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP.  This role will also have direct involvement in the creation and maintenance of company-wide information security implementations.


As a strong collaborator and team player, the Cyber Security Engineer will partner closely with stakeholders across the business, including from Operational Services, Product Development, and technology partners to contribute to the implementation of adequate security solutions and controls.  The incumbent will also mitigate cyber risks, respond to incidents, and produce evidence for regulatory requirements, with the goal of achieving business objectives.


As a key player in the development, implementation and maintenance of a company-wide information security infrastructure, the Cyber Security Engineer will partner with stakeholders to ensure best practice control objectives are achieved for system integrity, availability, confidentiality, accountability and assurance within the context of risk tolerance for both cloud and on-premise environments.



What you will do:



  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, Project Manager, and Operations teams, to define and implement security controls and best practices within multiple business units.

  • Continually improve Kinaxis security technologies by recognizing the best vendor offerings, assessing them, and recommending how to apply them to our corporation.

  • Identify, design, and implement improvements to security controls and technologies throughout the Kinaxis enterprise.

  • Collaborate with the Security Operations, Risk and Compliance teams to produce evidence for certification.

  • Research and investigate escalated cyber threats and security incidents.

  • Design Corporate Security Solutions which meet security compliance (SOC2, ISO 27k, etc) and business requirements.

  • Discover, remediate, and validate security issues across Kinaxis infrastructure per industry-standard information security policies

  • Actively participate in creating technology roadmaps to bring corporate acquisitions into an integrated security umbrella, and execute the roadmap.

  • Inform senior leaders about information security issues and implications to Kinaxis

  • Participate in Security Incident Responses


What you should have:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Engineering, Information Management Systems, or similar.

  • 4+ years of experience working within a Security team in a high tech, global environment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrates influence and the ability to communicate across multiple audiences, including senior leadership

  • Able to demonstrate InfoSec security principles.

  • Strong knowledge and skill across Networks, Windows, Unix, VMWare.

  • Experience in DevSecOps/CI/CD, Kubernetes Container Management, secret management, etc.



  • Successful candidate must be able to fulfill all security and confidentiality thresholds for this position
