Within Trust, the Security team is responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all healthcare data, client information, intellectual property, and employee data that has been entrusted to our organization. To stay ahead of a constantly evolving threat landscape our team operates by building and maintaining automated solutions, fostering a security aware culture across teams, and constantly challenging assumptions. We thrive on our ability to participate and give back to the healthcare industry and security community through leadership, code, and research.Own the care, development, growth, and expansion of the security engineering team, that is primarily responsible for building and maintaining internal services that manage critical parts of security capabilities (e.g., static analysis, automated scanning, certificate/secrets management) and product functions.

Build and cultivate a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration and perhaps most importantly, inclusivity, ensuring that the security engineering team is an effective partner to others within Trust and across the company.

Help guide the technical direction and expansion of the security engineering team in coordination with technical leadership.

Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the security engineering team including project prioritization and management, holding team members and external stakeholders accountable.

Oversee team members’ career and personal growth, holding them accountable to their project commitments and individual responsibilities.

Collaborate with stakeholders across key departments to ensure that security engineering takes on the right projects, prioritizes them accordingly, and involves the proper stakeholders.

Cultivate a working organization of inspired, enthusiastic security practitioners with a bias to action, engaging with stakeholders around the organization (e.g. engineering, data science, IT) and doing the right thing for Nuna and our clients, beyond simple compliance requirements.

Promote and encourage agile best practices such as testing, codification, continuous integration and continuous deployments, ensuring things are developed in line with Nuna engineering standards and security best practices.

Translate business objectives into actionable project plans and follow through on tracking those projects from planning to completion.

Requirements

Proven experience in management and leadership of security teams, including those with remote team members.

Demonstrated strategic planning skills across multiple aspects of an information security program.

Clear communication skills and the ability to break down problems and generate shared understanding.

Ability to drive and maintain a positive and supportive culture with internal and external customers (e.g., Nuna customers, engineering teams, data science, IT, etc.).

Demonstrated commitment to building a security engineering culture of inclusiveness and enablement.

Ability to travel if needed.

7+ years of experience working in a security and/or engineering field, with at least 3 years working in a management or leadership role.

Can handle ambiguity and act with autonomy within the trust department, teaching others to do the same.

Technology-agnostic and pragmatic security and engineering sensibility, focused on solving key problems, not focused on tools or vendors alone to solve a problem.

[Bonus] Experience with healthcare privacy and security requirements (i.e., HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, ARS, etc).

[Bonus] Understanding of security within cloud infrastructure environments.
