Who are we? (Team)

Our company goal is to close the $5tn funding gap for small businesses and to do that, security needs to be a first class citizen in our development and operational practices. We are a fast moving business and need to shift security 'left' in our processes to help us quickly respond to new product, geographical, regulatory and operational challenges that may arise.

Who are you? (The role)

As a Security Engineer, you will cover a wide scope in both practical, IT based security knowledge with things such as identifying vulnerabilities within a network, and creating firewalls, or configuring systems to enhance existing security features. While also being able to handle the management side and by completing things such a risk assessment or audit.

Responsibilities

• Respond to, and document, any security threats, resolve technical faults and allocate resources to deliver real solutions in a cost-effective way


• Understanding complex technical issues and managing them within a fast-paced business environment


• Maintaining all the software and hardware in relation to security


• Documenting security certification (ISO27001 & PCI)


• Identifying and managing vulnerabilities found in cloud systems as well as the larger environment.


• Setting up and managing Azure firewall and Microsoft front door policies as well as larger networking system


• Threat intelligence


• Implementing new security solutions to better protect the organisation


• Controlling access management for all cloud based systems


• Administrator security tooling such as Sentinel and azure defender suite of product. Ability to create function app’s and playbooks and working with KQL scripting.

We think you’ll need

• Expertise across a variety of security products including firewalls, URL filtering, information security and virus protection.


• The commercial acumen to provide cost-effective security solutions.


• An enthusiasm for staying up to date with the very latest updates about security threats and solutions.


• Outstanding communication skills that go beyond “tech talk” – the ability to translate complex IT matters to those without an IT background.


• Strong time management and organisational skills


• Previous exposure to Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems, coding languages, and/or Networks


• Previous exposure to financial services is desirable though not essential
