The Director of Cybersecurity and Data Privacy will partner with the church to understand and evaluate risk within digital areas, while also helping creature a cyber-aware culture within our staff.

The Risk Collaboration Team is dedicated to ensuring that we protect the ministry God has entrusted us with at Life.Church. Cybersecurity and data privacy are integral parts of the Risk Collaboration Team. The heart of our team is to help other teams know how to confidently say “Yes” to new initiatives and ideas that God puts in their paths, while also safeguarding our current ministries. We know that risk exists, but we exist to help identify controls that pave the way for the next “big-thinking, bet-the-farm idea!”

Whenever you hear that someone ran somewhere, you organize in your mind all the ways you want to help them know if they should pay the bounty or not. If when you hear someone mention fishing, you always hear “phishing” by default and cringe a little, keep reading.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication who fosters partnerships 
  • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change 
  • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects 
  • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others 

    • What you'll do:
  • Build rudimentary and advanced education on cybersecurity risks, data privacy, and internal controls for digital assets
  • Collaborate with all Life.Church teams on any cybersecurity-related needs
  • Oversee the execution of compliance reviews and testing
  • Review security design to ensure requirements and organizational needs are being met
  • Prepare and recommend a cybersecurity compliance plan for Life.Church
  • Be informed on industry alerts and best practices, implementing necessary updates organizationally

    • For bonus points:
  • Knowledge of audit standards, as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks such as CIS Standards, EU GDPR, PCI, and Cyber Essentials framework
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • You love to communicate complex things in simple ways
