Saronic is seeking a talented and organized Project Manager to join our team and take charge of projects across all of Security, including physical, personnel and cyber. As the Project Manager for Security, you will play a critical role in protecting us from and mitigating risks to our groundbreaking autonomous surface vessel technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for security initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee security projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with organizational goals, security strategy and roadmaps.
  • Establish project plans that include milestones and performance metrics to track progress and ensure project success.

  • Risk Management
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks associated with each project.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure the security of systems, data, and personnel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure security vulnerabilities are addressed.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with IT, cybersecurity, compliance, legal, and operational teams to integrate security best practices into all projects.
  • Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and issues.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Management
  • Ensure projects adhere to relevant security regulations and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53 and 171, CMMC, ISO 27001 and ITAR).
  • Coordinate the implementation of security controls and compliance measures in line with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and records to demonstrate compliance in audits or reviews.

  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure security measures are implemented effectively.
  • Manage relationships with external security auditors and consultants.
  • Ensure vendors meet the security standards and contractual obligations for projects.

  • Budget and Resource Allocation
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and within financial constraints.
  • Work with finance teams to secure funding and justify security-related expenditures.

  • Change Management
  • Oversee change management processes, ensuring security controls and standards are maintained during transitions or upgrades for all related project work.
  • Prepare and educate teams on new security policies, tools, or systems implemented during projects.

  • Incident Response and Crisis Management
  • Plan and coordinate responses to security incidents that may impact projects.
  • Ensure appropriate incident response protocols are established for project-related security incidents.

  • Security Training and Awareness
  • Ensure team members are trained on the latest security protocols relevant to the project.
  • Develop and implement training programs to assist in promoting a security-first culture across departments.

  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Provide regular project updates and security risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Document security controls, incident reports, and project progress for future reference and audits.
  • Create post-project reports that evaluate the success of security implementations and provide lessons learned.

  • Technology Implementation and Integration
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of security technologies to include process and tools.
  • Ensure that new technologies integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure without compromising security.

  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance security practices and project management processes.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in cybersecurity and project management.

  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, sales, engineering, and product development, to ensure alignment on objectives and messaging.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Security or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in security and IT project management, preferably in the technology or defense industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience engaging with executive leadership.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or military industry project is preferred.
  • Experience in managing virtual events and webinars is preferred.
  • Knowledge of autonomous systems or maritime technology is a plus.
