Role Summary

The information security analyst will plan and carry out security measures to protect Numeris computer networks and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, and co-ordinates testing of Numeris Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), and in co-operation with Corporate Compliance, develops, maintains, and tests Numeris overall Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Develops, maintains, and initiates Numeris Information Security Incident Response Plan, including documenting security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by breaches.
  • Review all system implementation designs and plans to ensure sufficient security and recovery provisions have been included, updating the corporate DRP as appropriate, and ensuring appropriate provisions are made in the BCP.
  • Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends, best practices, threats, and potential vulnerabilities, develop security standards and best practices appropriate for Numeris and recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
  • Co-ordinate the annual penetration test for Numeris review results of that test, and initiate and monitor work to address any vulnerabilities identified.
  • Testing, evaluating, and installing firewalls, data encryption, and other security measures.
  • Monitor Numeris networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs.
  • Conduct periodic security audits on current IT infrastructure and application software, and work with IT management to remediate any vulnerabilities found.

  • Education & Certifications
  • Undergraduate degree Required
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar Preferred

  • Skills & Experience
  • More than 3 years and up to 5 years in Information security analyst
  • Additional Skills:
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Visio.
  • Extensive working knowledge of information security and vulnerabilities / threats.
  • Expert knowledge of information security best practices, tools, and techniques, including encryption.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant security and privacy legislation, good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven communication, presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
  • Excellent judgment and strong decision-making skills, critical thinking skills and detail oriented.
