What does it mean to be a Senior Director, IT Security at GLS?
The Senior Director, IT Security is responsible for the planning, supervision, and implementation of internal IT security controls. This position will also plan and direct independent internal audit engagements of IT and operational functions, managerial controls, and related areas within the organization to ensure the sound operation of business processes and financial systems and controls.

How will you drive value within the organization as a Senior Director, IT Security?
  • Set internal IT controls audit strategy and annual audit plans
  • Develop and implement audit methodologies and practices
  • Develop and implement systems for collection and management of audit artifacts
  • Develop and monitor policies deployed by Data Loss Prevention platforms
  • Research, recommend and negotiate contracts for products and tools related to the GLS IT Security program and roadmap
  • Plan and perform internal audit engagements in a manner consistent with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing along with the Professional Standards of Conduct of the Institute of Internal Auditors
  • Coordinate annual risk and control assessment processes; identify critical control issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare audit reports with recommendations, appraisals, and analyses that will assist functional area management
  • Lead IT Leadership team to draft policies and controls for GLS – IT General Control Framework
  • Day-to-day project management of the GLS IT Security program and roadmap, including working directly with functional managers, operations, and external auditors to develop and coordinate programs
  • Assist management in establishing appropriate internal controls throughout the organization to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory agencies
  • Develop results reporting structure to communicate results to senior management
  • Set departmental goals and develop and maintain a daily employee work schedule that effectively meets the needs of the business unit and company

  • What should you already know to be successful as a Senior Director, IT Security?
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a technical audit and compliance environment required
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in IT security and engineering roles required
  • Exceptional analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment 
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team - provide quality training, guidance, performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Ability to think strategically and deliver tactically

  • Remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the workday
  • Constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment 
  • Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
  • The position requires up to 10% travel
