Listing Description

Blockdaemon is looking for a talented Security Engineer who thrives on ambiguity and loves endless discovery. You will collaborate with internal IT, network engineers and engineering teams working on security problems and helping architect solutions. There will never be a dull moment as you'll work with a wide array of systems including endpoints, mail gateways, networks and third-party services.

Position Overview:

• Secure configuration and management of corporate owned hardware and software including:




• Endpoints (i.e. macOS)


• Mobile Devices (i.e. Apple iOS)


• SaaS Applications (i.e. Okta, Jira, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Jamf Pro, etc.)


• Antivirus, Corporate Network Solution (Tailscale)




• Deploy and manage patch management program for all corporate endpoints and corporate mobile devices


• Collaborate with other teams within the company and play a strategic advisory role in systems selection, design, and governance


• Implement and maintain technical controls that are part of the security roadmap


• Serve as an escalation point for other members of the team as needed


• Develop and maintain asset inventory program


• Investigate the automation needs for each of our major business functions, define requirements, design solutions and oversee implementation


• Manage employee identities and access controls for SaaS applications used by the business


• Assist in onboarding users and deploying new technologies as required


• Strong familiarity with Okta, Jamf, Jira, Google Workspace, and Office365

Required Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with min. 2 as a leader 


• Excellent knowledge of Okta


• Deep understanding of SentinelOne


• Excellent knowledge macOS and Jamf


• Strong interest and experience in IT security


• Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management


• Familiarity with Tailscale is a plus


• Familiarity with Atlassian Suite and Confluence


• Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams


• Ability and willingness to work in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment


• Ability to work in a fully remote environment
