SingleHop is seeking a highly technical Security Engineer to do great work. A successful candidate will be well-versed in monitoring various security systems, identifying attacks and intrusion attempts, and engineering solutions to defend against today’s cyber threats. Beyond the technical requirements, the Security Engineer will also be expected to effectively communicate risk to senior leadership, identify areas of improvement, and work closely with SingleHop’s infrastructure engineering and development teams. This is a high visibility position at a fast moving tech company, and you must be a highly motivated self-starter.Objectives and Responsibilities:
-Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
-Identify and define system security requirements
-Analyze systems and applications to identify security gaps and work with business owners to remediate any deficiencies
-Design system security architecture
-Advise senior leadership and technical stakeholders on emerging threats, and countermeasures
-Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
-Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
-Perform network and application vulnerability scans, communicate results to engineers, and perform validation testing
-Analyze phishing campaigns and other malicious activity targeting the organization
-Work with 3rd party audit firm for yearly SOC 2 audit activities
Skills and Experience:
-PCI and SOC 2 audit experience required
-Linux administration required
-Windows administration familiarity preferred
-Experience with defense-in-depth security strategies required
-SIEM (Tenable Security Center, Nessus, Log Correlation Engine)
-Log collection and analysis (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
-Must love needles and haystacks
-Incident response
-Audit and investigate Active Directory events
-Vulnerability scanning and remediation
-Intrusion detection and prevention (Cisco FirePOWER)
-VMware experience is a huge plus
-Web application security is a huge plus
-Exceptional communication skills are critical, both written and verbal
-Positive and professional attitude, tactful, organized, and a team player
-Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, rapid-growth environment
